Terms of Service

1. About Jales

Jales ("we", "us", or "the platform") is an online marketplace that connects people who need tasks completed ("Posters") with skilled individuals who can perform those tasks ("Workers"). By creating an account or using Jales, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. User Accounts and Responsibilities

You must be at least 18 years old to use Jales. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Providing accurate and current information in your profile
• Complying with all applicable local, state, and federal laws

3. Task Postings

Posters may publish tasks describing work they need done. Task budgets must reflect the genuine scope of work. Tasks must not involve illegal activity, harmful content, or violations of third-party rights. Jales reserves the right to remove any task at its discretion.

4. Payments and Escrow

All payments are processed through Stripe. When a Poster accepts a Worker's offer, the Poster's card is authorized for the agreed amount — the funds are placed on hold, not transferred and not charged. Jales captures that authorization, and the Worker is paid, only after the Poster approves the completed work, or after the approval window described in the product elapses without objection. Card authorizations expire; if one expires before the work is approved, the hold is released and no payment is taken.

Jales charges a platform fee on each completed transaction. The current fee is displayed at checkout. Fees are non-refundable except in cases of platform error.

5. Stripe Connect

Workers must connect a Stripe account to receive payments. By connecting Stripe, you agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement. Jales acts as the platform operator and is not responsible for Stripe's decisions regarding account approval or fund availability.

6. Disputes

If a Poster or Worker believes there is a problem with a task, they may raise a dispute through the platform. Jales reviews disputes and decides the outcome, and that decision is final. We do not currently commit to a response time.

While a dispute is open, the task is frozen: no payment is captured and no payment is released to either party until the dispute is decided. The underlying card authorization may expire while a dispute is open, in which case no payment is taken and the matter is settled outside the original hold.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use Jales to:

• Post fraudulent, misleading, or illegal tasks
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Circumvent the platform's payment system to pay Workers directly
• Create multiple accounts to manipulate reviews or rankings
• Scrape, copy, or systematically extract platform data

8. Limitation of Liability

Jales is a marketplace platform and does not employ Workers or guarantee the quality of any task. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jales shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Termination does not affect any rights or obligations arising prior to the termination date.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will publish a new version with a new version date above. We record which version of these Terms you accepted and when. Continued use of Jales after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
